EMF sceptic now in key UK radiation committee

Image
Back in 2019, the BBC broadcast a programme called Health: Truth or Scare, which included a segment that dismissed claims that wireless radiation is harmful (see my blog post ' Mobile Phones: BBC Bias ' ). One of the BBC's chosen experts was Professor Malcom Sperrin, Director of the Department of Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust (or Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, depending on whichever website you look at). This is what he said in this programme:  " There's no evidence that suggests you should worry". Professor Sperrin's name now appears in the membership list of COMARE (Committee on Medical Aspects of Radiation in the Environment), which advises the UK Government on 'the health effects of natural and man-made radiation, both ionising and non-ionising'. COMARE has been attempting to recruit 'a radiation scientist with interest in non-ionising radiation' for quite some time, as can be s...

Mobile Phones: BBC Bias

Image
The BBC, Britain's state broadcaster, aired an extremely biased piece about mobile phones on Tuesday 23rd April 2019, as part of a programme called 'Heath: Truth or Scare'. I was contacted about this by a severely electrosensitive person, who was upset about the one-sided nature of the coverage. On watching the programme myself, I was amazed at the BBC's portrayal of mobile phones and other wireless devices as being essentially harmless. Indeed, the idea that these things are harmful was described as a 'myth' by one of the presenters. The programme featured two 'experts', who both denied that mobile phones are harmful. This message was reiterated by one of the presenters, as well as by the reporter. Apparently, the BBC had failed to do even a small amount of research beforehand, and had also failed to invite a properly qualified EMF expert to take part. The poor lady and her family who were the subject of the piece were given some spectacu...

Joining up the dots...

Name: Dave Ashton Country: UK How long have you been electrosensitive (and how long did it take you to make the link to EMFs?): I've been electrosensitive since at least 2007, but I can think of previous episodes that were probably indications of sensitivity. I finally knew beyond all doubt in December 2013. Your story (anything that you want to say about electrosensitivity and you): (For my friend in Green Bank West Virginia, the de-facto EHS capital of the U.S., who has asked me a number of times to tell my story!) The way that I look at it: We are bio-electromagnetic beings; if we weren't, EEGs and ECGs wouldn't work! Our brainwaves are completely entwined with the Schumann Resonance, the electromagnetic pulse of our planet. (1) We are ALL sensitive to electromagnetic fields (EMFs) at the cellular level (2) When we are exposed to EMFs, things happen: sometimes these are beneficial, and some...
