"Just the facts [about 5G], ma'am..."

Image
We are bombarded on a daily basis with 5G propaganda, both in terms of breathless, gushing articles extolling the virtues of the nascent technology (and of the necessity of 'winning the race' to saturate our respective countries with 5G coverage), and also of articles condemning - often in the most strident and offensive terms - those 'conspiracy theorists' and 'Luddites' who urge precaution in our adoption of the next generation of possibly carcinogenic technologies. Indeed, President Macron of France recently compared such people to the Amish. I was confronted by an article in the Guardian this morning, reporting on the recent results of a study from the director of the 'Cambridge Social Decision-Making Lab', Dr Sander van der Linden, who is a 'Social Psychologist', and also 'co-convener of the Cambridge Special Interest Group on Disinformation and Media Literacy': Poor numerical literacy linked to greater susceptibility to Covid-19 f...

BBC Bias, Part 2: 5G and WiFi

Image
The story so far... Last year, I complained to the BBC, concerning its woefully biased coverage of the EMF/Health issue on a tv programme it broadcast called Health: Truth or Scare: Mobile Phones: BBC Bias https://beingelectrosensitive.blogspot.com/2019/05/ To cut a long story short, the BBC refused to accept that this programme was biased and that it misrepresented the science on the health effects of wireless technologies such as mobile phones, mobile masts, Wi-Fi and smart meters (although it did concede one or two points that I made in my complaint). I escalated my complaint through all stages of the BBC's complaints process, and then, because I still wasn't satisfied with the responses that I received, I escalated it to the regulator, Ofcom. My complaint then, to all intents and purposes, disappeared into the ether. I may publish the full correspondence between the BBC and myself on this blog at some point. Since then, the BBC has continued t...

Mobile Phones: BBC Bias

Image
The BBC, Britain's state broadcaster, aired an extremely biased piece about mobile phones on Tuesday 23rd April 2019, as part of a programme called 'Heath: Truth or Scare'. I was contacted about this by a severely electrosensitive person, who was upset about the one-sided nature of the coverage. On watching the programme myself, I was amazed at the BBC's portrayal of mobile phones and other wireless devices as being essentially harmless. Indeed, the idea that these things are harmful was described as a 'myth' by one of the presenters. The programme featured two 'experts', who both denied that mobile phones are harmful. This message was reiterated by one of the presenters, as well as by the reporter. Apparently, the BBC had failed to do even a small amount of research beforehand, and had also failed to invite a properly qualified EMF expert to take part. The poor lady and her family who were the subject of the piece were given some spectacu...

Formal Complaint to the EU concerning EMFs, by Diana Kordas

Image
Editor's note: Below, you'll find an introductory email from Diana Kordas, and following this, her complaint to the European Union about the health issues posed by wireless technologies within Europe. There's a link to a downloadable version of this at the bottom of this post, for anybody who would like to make a similar complaint under their own name to the EU, or to any other organisation or individual. My grateful thanks to Diana for allowing me to post her complaint here. Hi,   My husband and I have just sent this letter to the EU to complain that wireless technologies are destroying nature and violate our basic rights. We sent it both as an email and as a registered letter. A copy was sent also to the Council of Europe, asking them to take this up on behalf of EU citizens. It may not do any good, but it will be interesting to see if the EU responds and what it says.   Obviously the EU does not want to hear from its citizens. I call...
