Welcome to the blog
Welcome to this new blog - Being Electrosensitive (in a microwaved world).
My name is Dave, and I suffer from electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS) - otherwise known as electrosensitivity, or microwave sickness, or radio sickness, or idiopathic environmental intolerance (attributed to EMFs), or screen dermatitis, or a number of other terms.
More and more people are developing a wide variety of symptoms, too many to list here, but including headaches, dizziness and vertigo, tinnitus, allergies and intolerances, nausea, anxiety and depression, skin complaints, gastrointestinal problems, aches and pains, heart problems, insomnia, forgetfulness, and vision problems.
Of course, these symptoms can be caused by any number of factors, but one cause in particular is often overlooked - the electromagnetic fields (EMFs) and electromagnetic radiation (EMR) from electrical items and wireless technologies. Most people have no idea that these EMFs can have such profound biological effects, and so don't associate exposure to them with their own varied, and often incapacitating and chronic, health problems.
The background to this is that we are all facing increasing exposure to "electrosmog" from a proliferation of wireless technologies, as we experience a revolution in communications, technology, and the way that we live our lives. We are also exposed to EMFs in our homes from electrical devices, powerlines, and wiring.
An increasing number of people are realising that they are affected by EMFs, despite the general lack of knowledge in the medical profession, the reluctance of the media to cover the issue with any degree of seriousness, and the insistence by authorities that there is no problem, and that the current radiation safety levels protect us from harm.
I'm not going to try to define and explain electrosensitivity or get into the complexities of the science here - I've added a number of links, where you can find additional information, and learn more about this complex condition, and about how EMFs affect the whole population, not just those who are sensitised (or who realise that they are sensitised).
The purpose of this blog is to let people like you, who have realised that you are electrosensitive, have your say, and explain how the condition affects you, what your background is, what you want to happen, how you would like to be treated, and so on. I'd also like it to be a resource that people who are interested in the subject can come to, to find out more about the condition, and learn how it impacts our lives.
In my next post, I'll kick off with my own story, and then I hope that others will follow.
To submit your post, please email me, or contact me via Facebook - there are some links on the right hand side.
Please read through the instructions for getting your post published, which are also on the right hand side.
Thanks for viewing this blog, and I hope that it will provide an insight into electrosensitivity for those who are looking for information, and give sufferers a forum in which to have our say.

What an excellent Site ... Thank you, Dave, for putting this together for those of us who suffer so badly.
ReplyDeleteI shall try to put together my own story when I feel able to go through a very necessary Editing process for what is a long story!
Thanks Diana - I look forward to receiving it.
DeleteI may have to split it up into a number of posts if it's too long!
Great initiative, Dave. Love this! Is it ok for foreigners to join in as well? We might be a bit limited in our language skills...
ReplyDeleteYes, please do. You can follow the blog by entering your email, and if you want, you can send in your story to be published.
Deletewonderful idea, Dave. this is much better than "only" a blog. I will post soon, have been badly exposed today, so have to rest now. bye and thanks a lot. Noa from Israel.
ReplyDeleteThanks Noa - I look forward to hearing your story.
DeleteHi Dave, fabulous website. Thank you for sharing your story! I understand your plight, for this is my life too. Slowly, but surely we are all banding together and sharing our health challenges with this nightmare of EHS that we are all enduring. Thank you for creating this forum for the millions of us who are suffering, and to tell our stories. Is this where I would write my story Dave? .....and may I have your email please. Gloria

Hello Dave and others. I am writing this on behalf of Stephanie Anne Hardwick and she first of all asks if you remember her? She contacted you online approx 9 mths ago and you kindly sent her some info about electro sensitivity through the post which was of use to her. She said she is to all intents and purposes now homeless! She is currently holed up on Rotherfield and staying with a friend but her health has gone downhill and she is unwell due to ES. There is no affordable accommodation in Rotherfield that she can tolerate and she feels her only alternative choice is a motor home. She wondered whether you could recommend any useful contacts who could help her with a search for a motor home? Stephanie was living in Hastings when she previously contacted you. Her email address is stephanieannehardwick@outlook.com. Because of her ES she wasn’t able to send this message by herself. Thank you for any advice you are able to offer.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes
Stephanie Anne
Hi,
DeleteI've sent an email to Stephanie's email account - please can you have a look and get back to me?
Thanks
